About the Author

Viet Thanh Nguyen is a Vietnamese-American writer, professor, and cultural critic. Born in Vietnam and raised in the U.S., he is known for his work on memory, migration, and war. In addition to fiction, he has written acclaimed nonfiction such as Nothing Ever Dies and The Displaced. He teaches at the University of Southern California and is a prominent voice in Asian-American literature.
