About the Author
S.N. Goenka (1924-2013) was a leading lay teacher of Vipassana meditation. Born in Burma, he spent his early life as a successful businessman. After suffering from severe migraines, he began to study Vipassana under Sayagyi U Ba Khin. Goenka later moved to India and began teaching Vipassana in 1969, establishing numerous centers worldwide and making the technique accessible to millions.
