Description

Set in 1960, with the border between East and West Germany sealed, 'Siblings' explores the divergent paths of Elisabeth, a young painter committed to building an egalitarian socialist future in the GDR, and her brother Uli, who views the state as a source of stricture and oppression. As the political chasm widens between them, shadowed by their defector brother Konrad, their familial loyalty and personal desires are put to the test against a backdrop of opportunity and fear in post-war East Germany.
