My Palestine An Impossible Exile is a poignant memoir by Mohammad Tarbush, intertwining personal narrative with political and economic insights into the history of Israel, Palestine, and the broader Middle East. Born in British Mandate Palestine, Tarbush and his family were forced to evacuate their village following the establishment of the State of Israel, leading them into a life of poverty as landless refugees in the West Bank. As a teenager, under the pretense of visiting relatives in Jordan, Tarbush embarked on a year-long hitchhiking journey to Europe. There, he rose to prominence as an international banker and became a key behind-the-scenes advocate for the Palestinian cause.
