About the Author

Ray Bradbury (1920-2012) was an American fantasy, science fiction, horror, and mystery writer. Best known for his dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451 (1953) and his science fiction short story collection The Martian Chronicles (1950), Bradbury was one of the most celebrated 20th-century American writers. He wrote and published more than 500 short stories, novels, plays, and poems, and was a recipient of numerous awards, including a National Medal of Arts.
