Disappearing Faces

Disappearing Faces is a photo essay by Sadhguru. It gathers rare photographs from his journeys through remote Himalayan regions, including Nepal and Tibet. The book portrays Himalayan people whose lives and perceptions have been formed by their surroundings, the elements, and direct experience rather than modern information and influences. Their faces, the book suggests, show innocence, simplicity, and clear perception. As development and formal schooling spread, the book says, these ways of living and the faces shaped by them are fading. The photographs preserve a glimpse of this disappearing human experience.
