Description
Chokher Bali delves into the complex and forbidden emotions that surface when a young, beautiful widow enters the seemingly tranquil lives of a newly married couple. This groundbreaking novel by Rabindranath Tagore intricately weaves a web of relationships between the self-absorbed Mahendra, his innocent bride Asha, their loyal friend Bihari, and the cunning Binodini, whose arrival irrevocably alters their destinies. The narrative explores themes of desire, societal constraints, and the awakening of female agency in early 20th-century Bengal.
