Wisdom Takes Work: Living the Examined Life is a book in Ryan Holiday's Stoic Virtues series. It is a handbook for applied wisdom. The book makes a practical case that the work of getting wiser never stops. Rather than treating Stoicism as philosophy for its own sake, it strips away the toga-wearing mysticism and offers tools a reader can actually use. Its main themes are wisdom, daily practice and living the examined life.
