So Late in the Day

After a normal Friday in the Dublin office, Cathal rides the bus home for a long weekend. He thinks about Sabine, a woman he might have shared life with if he had made other choices. At home with television and champagne, memories and thoughts disturb him, and the date's meaning becomes clear. The story asks whether a lack of generosity can damage what might grow between men and women, and whether love can exist without sharing. Cathal's evening alone becomes a time to think about what he may have lost.
