Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls

This book opens with a guy walking into a bar, a start that could lead almost anywhere. Sedaris then looks at life's absurdities with humour and intelligence. He remembers his father's dinnertime clothes, which were shirtsleeves and underpants. He recalls his first colonoscopy, which turned out to be remarkably pleasant. He also tells of the time he considered buying the skeleton of a murdered pygmy. The writing is by turns hilarious and moving, and it takes the reader on adventures that are not easily forgotten.
