The Ego Trick looks at what makes you the same person you were years ago, or even minutes ago. Julian Baggini asks who the real you is, and whether that self stays constant or is fragmented and fluid. He explores whether you know yourself or remain a mystery to yourself. His search draws on philosophy, anthropology, sociology, psychology and neurology, and on conversations with theologians, priests and people said to be reincarnated Lamas. It also examines real cases of lost memory, personality disorders and personal transformation, and his own experiences.
