Glen Runciter runs Runciter Associates, a company whose inertials cancel the powers of telepaths and precogs. A job on Stanton Mick's Moon base turns out to be a trap, and a bomb blast apparently kills Runciter. His team, including the debt-ridden technician Joe Chip and the mysterious Pat Conley, then finds reality shifting around them. The world warps and regresses, and strange messages seem to come from their boss. The story plays with death, time and what is real, and asks whether Runciter is really gone.
