Tim Marshall explores ten regions the book says will matter for world politics and power. Its chapters cover Australia, The Sahel, Greece, Turkey, the UK, Iran, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Space. The book asks what part the atmosphere will play in future conflict, how competition over the Pacific is developing, and how near Europe's next refugee crisis may be. It presents geography as a force that shapes humanity across past, present and future, and the author writes about terrain and location with wit and insight.
