About the Author
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was a Frenchman who wrote, flew planes, reported and made poems. He came from an aristocratic family in Lyon. In the early 1920s he became a commercial pilot, carrying mail by air over Europe, Africa and South America. His published works include The Aviator, Southern Mail, Night Flight, Wind, Sand and Stars, Flight to Arras and The Little Prince. He served in the French Air Force during World War II, then the Free French Air Force. His plane vanished on a 1944 reconnaissance flight.
