Description

Chögyam Trungpa, one of the most influential Buddhist teachers of the 20th century, explores how meditation is not just a practice confined to a cushion but a way of being that infuses all aspects of life. He emphasizes that true meditation is not about escaping reality but engaging with it fully, with awareness and compassion.

Drawing from Tibetan Buddhist teachings, Trungpa presents meditation as a path to understanding the mind, cultivating wisdom, and developing a compassionate heart. The book is structured around the concept of the "Six Paramitas" (generosity, discipline, patience, exertion, meditation, and wisdom), guiding readers on how to integrate these principles into their daily lives.

Why read this book?

  • A clear and engaging introduction to meditation and mindfulness, accessible for both beginners and experienced practitioners.

  • Offers practical insights on applying Buddhist wisdom to everyday situations, making spiritual practice relevant in modern life.

  • Trungpa’s teachings are direct, profound, and often infused with humor, making complex concepts easier to understand.

  • Explores the transformative power of meditation beyond just relaxation, emphasizing its role in cultivating wisdom and compassion.
