Description

This book collects performance pieces from Eve Ensler's one-woman show of the same name. They grew out of interviews the author held with over two hundred women about their vaginas. The women were old and young, married and single, and included lesbians, college professors, actors, corporate professionals and sex workers. Their voices are funny, outrageous, moving and human. Together they look at female sexuality, the body, and women's fantasies and fears. The play has been performed around the world and inspired V-Day, a movement to stop violence against women. This expanded edition adds new monologues, a new introduction by Jacqueline Woodson and a new afterword.

Why You Should Read?

  • Discover the voices of over two hundred women of many ages, backgrounds and walks of life.
  • Explore female sexuality in all its complexity and mystery through pieces that are witty, lusty and poignant.
  • Understand women's deepest fantasies and fears as they speak openly about their bodies.
  • Gain new monologues and an afterword on the global influence of the book in this expanded edition.
