About the Author

William Dalrymple is a Scottish historian, art historian, and writer, celebrated for his works on India and the Islamic world. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and the Royal Asiatic Society, he is a co-founder and co-director of the Jaipur Literature Festival.
